Aluminium balustrades with balusters

The QUASPE aluminium baluster system consists of aluminium profiles, system connectors and a steel anchor plate (galvanized), which ensures adequate load-bearing capacity and safety of use. The solution was created as an alternative to welded steel balustrades, giving a simple and elegant look and incomparable durability. The balustrade infill consists of system balusters with dimensions of 38×20 mm. When designing the system, we limited the number of visible connectors to a minimum, which significantly affects the aesthetics and final effect of the installation. Balustrades with balusters, like aluminium and glass balustrades, can be fully prefabricated, obtaining the effect of “Lego bricks” – all that remains on the site is the installation of ready-made profiles and spans without the need to cut. We can combine the baluster system with the aluminium and glass system, e.g. by using a blind covering the front of the balcony.

All aluminium profiles are powder-coated in any colour from the RAL palette, giving the balustrade an aesthetic and modern look. Balustrade elements are connected using system connectors, which makes the installation process quick, easy and “clean”.

A great advantage of our system, which distinguishes us from the background, is the ability to use a fascia panel masking the face of the balcony slab, the height of which is adjusted to the required size. The optional use of a drip cap also allows for an aesthetic finish to the bottom of the balustrade, while allowing water to fall freely beyond its face.

Safe use

At QUASPE, we make sure that each product we offer complies with applicable standards and regulations. We approach each order individually, making calculations that determine the mounting details, such as: spacing of posts. We take into account not only the loads resulting from the loads imposed by users, but also the forces of nature such as wind. We make sure that, in accordance with the technical conditions that buildings and their location should meet, we maintain the required balustrade heights and do not exceed the maximum clearances between the infill elements.

Structure

The balustrade structure consists of aluminium profiles. When designing our solution, we placed particular emphasis on aesthetics, reducing the number of visible connections to a minimum. The possibility of prefabricating ready-made spans allows you to reduce installation time on the site.

The system is based on:

Post – a versatile solution regardless of the chosen installation method. Massive and designed in such a way that it is resistant to the forces in critical places.

Handrail – less than 70 mm wide, designed especially for the baluster system.

Baluster – a system solution that allows for infill in a vertical orientation.

All aluminium profiles are powder-coated in any colour from the RAL palette, obtaining various surface finishes. Thanks to their resistance to changing weather conditions and mechanical damage, they retain their appearance for a very long time.

Infill

The infill of aluminium balustrades with balusters can be made from 20×38 mm system balusters, enabling ready-made spans with a vertical arrangement, or from RP 20×20×2 mm profiles for solutions where the profiles are installed horizontally.

If a fascia panel masking the front of the balcony slab is used, its infill may be:

Glass – for fascia panels, laminated VSG 44.2 glass is most commonly used. A wide range of colours and the option to choose transparency make selection easy and make it universally applicable.

Composite panel – consists of two outer layers of aluminium and an inner core forming the infill layer. The material has excellent mechanical properties, high impact resistance, increased stiffness and reduced weight. The range of colours offered by manufacturers of this material and its opacity make it a popular solution for fascia panels masking the front of the balcony slab.

HPL – a layered thermosetting material. It is made of several or a dozen or so layers of paper which, after being impregnated with phenolic resin, are pressed under high pressure and temperature. This process produces compact HPL panels and thin HPL laminates. For balustrades, it is essential to select a panel intended for outdoor use.

Installation method

Two variants of installation of QUASPE aluminium balustrades are standardly available. You can choose from face mounting or top mounting to the balcony or terrace slab. The first solution is more common due to the lack of interference with the waterproofing layer. Mounting to the front is done using an anchor plate fixed with system anchors. The anchor plate can be covered with the facade at a later stage or, as is the case with balcony slabs using “isokorb” type thermal connectors, remain visible. By face mounting, we do not lose space on the balcony as would be the case with mounting from the top. We can cover the front of the balcony slab using fascia panels made of, among others, glass, composite panels or HPL. A major advantage of our solution is the standard availability of various sizes of anchor plates attached to the front, so the thickness of the insulation used on the balcony is not a limitation. Additionally, we are able to design and produce balustrade mountings tailored to customer needs.

FAQ – frequently asked questions about aluminium-balustrades with balusters

1. Can balusters be placed both vertically and horizontally?

Yes. The QUASPE system allows any baluster arrangement, vertical or horizontal. This makes it possible to adapt the balustrade to both modern architecture and more traditional projects.

2. Do balustrades with balusters require maintenance?

No. Powder-coated aluminium is resistant to corrosion, UV radiation and moisture. Periodic cleaning is enough for the balustrade to maintain its aesthetics for many years.

3. What are the available methods of installing balustrades with balusters?

Top-mounted or side-mounted installation to the balcony slab is possible. Different standard types of system mounting plates make it easier to adapt the solution to the project conditions.

4. Do you offer the service of installation and disassembly of old balustrades?

We do not provide services related to the removal of existing balustrades. Our offer covers the sale of a complete aluminium balustrade system with balusters.

5. What is the order lead time?

As a rule, the lead time is: raw profiles – 2 weeks, powder-coated profiles – 4 weeks, prefabricated profiles – 6 weeks. The lead time is always confirmed individually. Contact us for more details.

6. Can a baluster balustrade be made according to an individual design?

Of course. Every QUASPE system can be adapted to the dimensions and colours of the building within the available system solutions. We rely on our aluminium profiles and standard infill components, which ensures aesthetics and durability without welding or custom metalwork. Individual projects are carried out using existing system components.
