Sliding glass enclosure for balconies and terraces

The QUASPE sliding system is used for both balconies and terraces. The upper and lower guide rails enabling the construction of 2 to 5 tracks on dedicated profiles make the installation of both small and very large enclosures not a problem. A system side pocket designed individually for each track width allows for an aesthetic end to the enclosure. The glass is placed in a 69 mm high glazing profile, and the highest quality trolleys used in our solution allow for smooth movement of the glass without the need to use much force.

Structure

Upper and lower guide rail – profiles with a height of 45 mm (upper) and 20 mm (lower) and a width from 40 to 98 mm enable the construction of 2, 3, 4 or 5 tracks.

Side pocket – profiles with a width of 44 to 102 mm, mounted vertically – enable an attractive finish to the enclosure.

Glass profile – a profile with a height of 69 mm, used regardless of the number of tracks in the enclosure. Designed for system guides, enabling the installation of glass with a thickness of 6, 8 and 10 mm.

Infill

Glass – in the sliding system, the infill can be monolithic ESG glass with a thickness of 6, 8 and 10 mm or laminated glass 44.2 or 55.2. The selection of the thickness and type of glass depends on the dimensions of a single leaf and the customer’s needs. The multitude of colours and the ability to choose translucency make it easy to choose and versatile in use.

FAQ – frequently asked questions about sliding enclosures

1. Can the sliding enclosure be installed on an existing balcony or terrace?

Yes, the QUASPE sliding glass enclosure can be installed on both an existing balcony and a terrace. The system is based on aluminium profiles: the upper and lower tracks, side pocket and glass profile. The solution works both outside and inside the building.

2. What are the maximum dimensions of sliding elements in the QUASPE system?

The use of a set of trolleys with a total load capacity of 120 kg per panel allows, with 10 mm glass, the installation of panes with an area of almost 4.8 m2. When determining the dimensions, the slenderness condition of the glass pane must be maintained, with a height-to-width ratio of 1:3. The clear opening created after sliding the panels together, as well as the visual proportions, are also important.

3. Does the sliding enclosure protect against weather conditions?

Yes, the QUASPE sliding glass enclosure protects against weather conditions such as wind, rain and snow.

4. What materials are sliding enclosures made of and do they require maintenance?

Glass enclosures are made from powder-coated or anodised aluminium profiles that are resistant to corrosion and UV radiation. The infill may be laminated glass 44.2 or 55.2, or monolithic toughened glass with a thickness of 8 or 10 mm. No special maintenance is required; use is limited to keeping the enclosure clean in accordance with the cleaning rules for glass and powder-coated aluminium.

5. What information is needed to prepare a quote?

To prepare a quote, the following information is required: width and height of the opening, structure colour if the profiles are to be powder-coated, glass colour if a complete enclosure is purchased, planned number of tracks, to be confirmed in the offer due to technical assumptions regarding glass dimensions or technological limitations such as the minimum glass profile width, opening direction, to one side or to two sides, panel movement, individually or together, information on whether the enclosure should be lockable, and whether glass handles should be included in the quote.

6. How easy is it to use the QUASPE sliding enclosure?

The system was created with everyday comfort in mind. Running trolleys made from high-quality materials ensure quiet and smooth panel movement without the need for significant force. Each panel can be moved easily, which allows the space to be fully opened on warm days or quickly closed when the weather deteriorates.
