Glass enclosures and balcony partitions

The QUASPE fixed glass enclosure system can be used both inside and outside the building. The versatility of the profiles used in the structure is a major advantage of our system, as they can be applied in a wide range of projects.

The profiles make it possible to create, among other things:

  • balcony partitions,
  • fixed side enclosures near the canopy,
  • “vestibules” in front of the entrance to the building,
  • partition walls, e.g. in office rooms.

 

Powder coating in colours from the RAL palette increases the attractiveness of the solutions, allowing them to aesthetically match the surroundings. The number of visible connections reduced to a minimum and the system designed with attention to the smallest details creates a unique effect and increases the aesthetics of the development.

Structure

48x20x2 mm partition profile – a horizontal system profile. It is used both to create the enclosure frame and, where required, to divide it. "U" partition profile and "L" partition profile with clip are screwed to it using stainless steel screws.

"U" partition profile – a profile that can be attached to both the upper and lower 48x20x2 mm partition profile. The enclosure infill is placed in this profile.

RP 50x30x2 mm profile – an aluminium rectangular profile that can be used as a vertical enclosure profile. Horizontal 48x20x2 mm partition profiles are screwed to it.

Infill

Glass – monolithic toughened glass (ESG) 6/8 mm, laminated glass (VSG) or laminated and toughened glass (VSG/ESG) 33.1 or 44.2 can be used.

44.2 glass means two glass panes, each 4 mm thick, joined together with two interlayers, with a total thickness of approximately 8 mm. The bonding of the elements (toughened or non-toughened panes) takes place in the so-called lamination process – in vacuum conditions under high temperature. It is possible to select both the colour of the glass and its transparency by using the appropriate interlayer.

Composite panel – consists of two outer layers of aluminium and an inner core forming the infill layer. The material has excellent mechanical properties, high impact resistance, increased stiffness and reduced weight. The range of colours offered by manufacturers of this material, its opacity and resistance to changing weather conditions mean that it can be used for balcony partitions.

HPL – a layered thermosetting material. It is made of several or a dozen or so layers of paper which, after being impregnated with phenolic resin, are pressed under high pressure and temperature. This process produces compact HPL panels and thin HPL laminates. For balustrades, it is essential to select a panel intended for outdoor use.

FAQ – frequently asked questions about fixed glass enclosures

1. What are the differences between fixed and sliding enclosures?

Fixed glass enclosures create stationary partitions made of aluminium profiles and glass or another infill, while sliding glass enclosures are a separate system designed to allow the space in which they are installed to be opened and closed.

2. What elements do fixed glass enclosures consist of?

The system is based on aluminium glazing profiles in which the infill is installed. When fixed directly to building elements or standard profiles, they create fixed glass enclosures. The variety of glazing profiles allows the system to be adapted to the client's needs.

3. What materials does QUASPE use to produce fixed glass enclosures?

The structure is made from powder-coated aluminium profiles. The infill may be laminated glass (VSG), toughened glass (ESG), laminated toughened glass (VSG/ESG), composite panel or HPL, depending on the application.

4. What is the lead time for an order for fixed glass enclosure?

The assumed lead times are: raw profiles – 2 weeks, powder-coated profiles – 4 weeks, prefabricated profiles – 6 weeks, and a system order including glass – 8 weeks. The final lead time is always confirmed individually. Contact us for more details.

5. Do fixed glass enclosures need service or maintenance?

Fixed glass enclosures do not require servicing or maintenance. Periodic washing of the glass with products intended for this purpose and wiping the structure with a damp cloth without abrasive agents are enough to keep the enclosure clean.

6. Where are QUASPE fixed glass enclosures used?

They are successfully used in balcony partitions, with terrace canopies, in offices, service facilities and residential spaces as modern partition walls.
